Kufta (Turkish Meatballs) Recipe

When your in the mood to eat meat, this is what you should eat! My mouth is watering as I write this. We get Kufta at Sultan Ahmet, near the Santa Sofia, when we visit istanbul.

Ingredients

1 Lb ground beef or lamb - (high fat is tastier)
1 small onion
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

Coarsly chop old, dried out bread into crumbs in a food processor.

Grate the onion in a food processor, so that it is mush. Squeeze out all of the juice. This will make you cry.

Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl and kneed it together with your hands, until full mixed.

Form the meat mixture into flattened balls, slightly smaller than a golf ball.

Cook on a fire grill, until well done. Serve with french fries, or oregano potatos.
