Biscuit Recipe

Biscuits are a fast way to round out a meal. From start to finish they take only about 20 minutes. These are healthiest and most tasty with the coconut oil.

Ingredients

4 cups wheat flour
1/2 cup coconut oil (or butter)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoon salt
6 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk or water

Directions

Heat oven to 400F.

If using butter make sure it is softened in the microwave. Add flour, oil salt and baking powder Use an electric hand mixer to mix the flour into the coconut oil or butter. Start on the lowest speed setting. The flour mixture will become more dense as the oil is mixed in. Stir in milk.

Form into a ball and lightly kneed it. Roll out the ball to about 3/8 inch thick. Use a cup to form circular shaped buscuits, 2-3 inches in diameter. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Place the buscuits so that they are nearly touching for softer edges, or 1/2 to 1 inches appart for harder cooked edges.

Bake for 12-14 minutes, until golden brown on top. Serve with butter and jam.
